I'm happy about a 4v4 league, but just seems odd.
Hey deloving, thanks for your comment. You're correct on a few fronts - I am not a 3v3 League admin and there was indeed a recent vote for new admins for that league. However, the HBANZ Super League is in no way associated with the 3v3 League. The recent vote over in that league ushered in two new admins, for a total of three. As such, that 3v3 League admin team is responsible for just that - running the 3v3 League. There is no crossover in responsibilities between myself and the admins of that league, however I look forward to working in unison with them to coordinate future seasons.
Hopefully that clears up any confusion for you. If you have any further questions relating to the HBANZ Super League, feel free to post them here. However, if your questions relate to the 3v3 League, you can direct them to the 3v3 League Admin Team - @Juicy Tampon, @Maxie or @Angst.

Thanks for taking the initiative. If you don't mind I have a number of questions.
Is there any plan for what dates the season will take place and how long will you provide for signups? How does this affect real soccer and how long will both seasons be? Finally, how many teams are you aiming for and what are you planning for in terms of draft format?
Kind regards,
Maxie
Hi Maxie,
Is there any plan for what dates the season will take place and how long will you provide for signups?
As far as dates go, at this stage I cannot answer that question with certainty as I am working on things which will determine how long the season is and when it will begin. I will provide updates as soon as I can, however. Ideally, sign ups will be open for a month before the season begins but that may vary too.
How does this affect real soccer and how long will both seasons be?
It shouldn't have much of an affect on the HPL but again I will confirm this when I can. HPL Season will be the same length, HSL season is looking at being ~2 months but that is not confirmed just yet.

Hi EBUS, thanks for your post. This is correct, until only a few months ago I was under the impression that 4v4 Big Easy was no longer a fun game mode. However, I'm more than happy to admit I was wrong about that.
So what changed my mind? It's simple - playing 4v4 Big Easy with the asian based players. Over the last few months I've played 4v4 Big Easy pubs in the asian rooms but the biggest thing that changed my mind was playing with some good asian based players in the 4 Corner Tournaments. These guys are really good at 4v4 Big Easy and it made me realise that it's not the game mode that is a problem, it is that most of the Aus/NZ community isn't that great at it because we're not used to playing it. So I am now of the belief that we have enough good players in HBANZ, it's just a matter of them getting used to the optimal way of playing 4v4 Big Easy. I think at the top level, we will develop into an extremely strong 4v4 community.
Yes, there is no shying away from the fact that at the top level, 4v4 Big Easy can be turned into a defensive stalemate if the teams decide to use that strategy, however I don't think that the greater HBANZ community currently possesses the knowledge and/or skill to implement a strong team zone defence of that level just yet. So we'll monitor it, if it does develop into an issue as players improve at the game mode then we can look at implementing a change of some type but I honestly don't think it will be a problem, at least in the early seasons.
